It all depends on the lineup.
Just with every other GL - try defending with GMK without CAT.
So? A toon has to beat everything on offense to be good?
What really IS the point of LoVer in this game?
The point, for the players, is that its another GL. If you have 6 GLs, and your GAC opponent only 5 GLs, then you have a very serious advantage, and thus much better chances of winning the match.
In the old times, with Squad arena being everything, this wouldn't be important, but now GAC is the most important aspect of the game, and having LV is much better than not having him.
From CG's perspective, its simply money, of course. More toons/gears/relic packs/crystals to be sold.
