Tie Fighter survived Executrix Imperial Assault!? WTF!?

Ok so it’s a last chance battle for spot 20 and 100 crystals. I’m down to my last ship and Imperial Assault is ready. I win right?

Noooo! 2 of his 3 ships die and which one survives? Tie Fighter!? WTF? He was not at full HP and even if so with no protection, I’ve never seen a tie fighter survive Imperial Assault. I’m so P’d OFF!! How is this possible?

Is the other player cheating somehow like they’ve hacked a way to make tie fighter immune to Imperial assault?
