Time to end Old Republic and Revan

I have been playing this game since the beginning and it has been a fun game. I have fully enjoyed the time I have played, even with the addition of Revan at the beginning. I figured it would just be a temporary issue and the game would balance itself out, just like Luke. But, now it is getting discouraging with “all Revan, all the time.” It has caused a large divide between those who have and those who haven’t. Even in Territory wars, this group has turned into a gate that is all but impossible to whittle down with multiple teams. It is either you smash the team or waste multiple other teams in vane attempts. The mechanics were cool, but take away skill and replace with overwhelming strength of teams. The gap with Revan is greater than Luke ever was and has hindered game play, i.e. there is only 5-6 non-Revan teams in the top 100 of my Arena. I can only imagine the annoyance of mirror-matches of the those with Revan in the top 100.

Secondly, we have followed a story line that has only catered to a smaller percentage of the population. Whereas Revan was a great addition, the characters associated with the Old Republic are scantly known and provide little-to-no interest. We all grew up with Lobot and even though he is weak in this game, he is also a critical character to the cannon and worth farming for that point alone. The Old Republic, while a game, is still less known than Mara Jade or Darth Bane who would have made the Star Wars Nerds giddy with joy.

I am not saying that Revan’s addition wasn’t a good idea, for I think it was. But the mechanics of gameplay change with Revan has significantly taken away from the “fun factor” of the game. Hopefully this will balance out in the near future with a greater mixture of teams.

The Darth Bane trilogy is considered quintessential reading for the Star Wars Legends universe and delves deep into the history of the Sith. They're written by Drew Karpyshyn who was the senior writer for the KOTOR games and the Revan book so I'm not sure where the 'third rate' comment is coming from.

I own them all in hardcover. I enjoy them. But Star Wars novels are already a niche market, and Star Wars novels that don't feature any Skywalkers/Solos have an even more niche audience. The idea that there are more people playing SWGOH who are big enough fans of Darth Bane to spend money than there are people who are big enough fans to spend money on Old Republic characters is totally laughable.

People are going to spend money on whatever is meta. They made a ton on Enfys Nest and she's basically a nobody in the Star Wars universe at this point. If they release Darth Bane and Darth Zannah and they're a dominating meta the money will flow. There are plenty of people who had no idea what KOTOR is that spent money to get Revan just because he was meta-defining.

The old Republic isn't even that good as a squad together unless you have a Revan.

Revan is just another jedi leader.
Carth is the true OR leader.
