My concern is, when the community (at least a large portion of it) are happy with something, its usually the first thing that gets looked at for change, because it seems happiness=not making enough $$.
While they are a business interested in making money the community (for a large portion) are not large spenders, and anything that shifts direction to the spending market is always going to be pushed back against.
Usually I am for new content and have enjoyed the puzzles, but new content usually means spend $$ or be left behind and coupling that with changes that affect F2P far more than any other portion of the community, seems like CG/EA are doubling down and that, *that* is the response the community has received.
Not an overt response, but one of implication.
Some will say that's an assumption. I say I'm just reading the writing on the wall.
