TW Omis cost

The recent reduction of price to 3v3 and 5v5 specific omicrons has opened up this opportunity for territory war omicrons as well. The reasoning is simple enough, we have 3 GAC matches per week compared to 1 TW match. People are generally more reluctant to apply TW omis because it is overall not as enjoyable. And, if people are less cautious with their TW omi applications they will no doubt have a smaller surplus of omis to apply on GAC omicrons. Leading to them potentially even spending more than they would otherwise + more FOMO, so it would probably be good for business as well as players.

I think people focus more on GAC omis over TW omis since GAC provides better rewards. Plus having 3 omi abilities on some characters vs only 1 omi ability for tw characters it makes more sense to go after rewards in GAC. Thus the cost decrease. But it was also only directed at characters with the 3v3 and 5v5, not all GAC omi abilities, so it was a small enough pool that was affected.

Maybe it would make more sense to balance the amount of omi abilities on tw omi characters by giving them 2-3 abilities that can have omis as well, or at least amplify those abilities a bit more to balance like the gac omis do for gac to make them more worthwhile.

I like TW over GAC, so I would be on board with a form of this idea, but reducing TW omi costs might just be awful as then suddenly everyone would start getting omicrons back and it would just make GAC and TW that much more difficult with a sudden increase of everyone enhancing more characters. Datacrons already made both more difficult.

  • What exactly do you mean by 1 omi on TW characters and 3 on GAC characters. If you mean the amount of abilities that have an omicron upgrade available, then this has not been my experience at all. New marquees are given 1 sometimes 2 omicrons, but the number isn’t dependent on the game mode. And conquest units are given 3, no matter if they’re TW or GAC.

Just did some double checking, I'd forgotten that there are some TW characters with more than one omicron ability, because the only one I have with more than one is Grand Inq. 😅

Are you saying that your Trench isn't R8 with triple omicrons? Gosh. How unguildlike of you. I shall be lodging a complaint with the office of RNGesus.

  • TW is lame and boring.  CG isn't concerned about TW, nor GAC.  Those are low priority events, which is why they haven't been updated in years.  CG sees as well as we do players aren't spending as much on TW omicrons as on GAC.  Same with their dumb conquest and galactic challenge omicrons.

Maybe more players would spend resources on TW, but that would require CG to expend some energy and time on updating TW.  Players dump resources into GAC characters and omicrons because that's where the crystals are.  But it's still old, lame, and tiresome because CG doesn't care to change it from the 2020ish model it's using still.  Their primary effort is "new shiny" not old & lame.

I have Trench unlocked, but not geared. I plan out what I'm going after and focus on that, rarely pivoting, and saving all gear and materials for whatever that happens to be. Since the conquest feature started I usually alternate between a conquest character with team, remaining unlockables requirements (GLs, journeys), and RotE needs - though last Fall I upgraded 7 or more characters for RotE platoons, so I've been sitting out for a bit and letting others take a few so I can work toward other things.
