Ugh... Chaze
I don't understand how a blind, wannabe Jedi and a hulking dude with a machine gun were made into the best healer and tank in the game. They have about 8 words of dialogue between them in a little sid...

this is so easy to explain. It's actually the same exact reason why Chaze as a duo exists in Rogue one to begin with.
all media companies wants a piece of the giant pie that is the Chinese market. Hiring a regionally incredibly famous actor like Donnie Yen for even a bit part like Chirrut means he's the fav characters of a region that's fast approaching the purchasing power of the west as a whole.
Having those two characters in the movie helped Rogue one to be able to play in China, and having those characters well represented and viable in the game means EA/CG just increased the amount of potential paying customers by probably something like a 5 to 10x factor.
OR, maybe we should point to the SWGOH staff theory. Rey and Chirrut has taught me that a simple staff does way more dps than a sword that lights up, apparently.
Baze is harder to explain outside of him being buddies with Chirrut. I mean, so many toons in SWGOH has repeater blasters that can't hit anything. To be fair in game all he does for me is soak up dmg and do the occasional dispels, so maybe that's fitting as a tank. He's becoming less op as we get better options to dispel on basic like DN or even dispel that comes with buff immunity like ISC.
But the duo together, that's just a blatant play on that market.
Yea pretty sure this game is played by 90% Americans.
