Upgraded KX security Droid, didn't receive any level 8 abilities

So around 30 minutes before the new season, I bought shards to get him up to level 5, so that I could upgrade him to era level 85. This was so that I got the free zeta and the other ability levels to level 8. However, when I received the KX security Droid, HE DIDN'T HAVE ANY LEVEL 8 ABILITIES.
