[URGENT] Proposal for Brazil's Store Restrictions (Law 15.211)

Hi everyone

I’m a dedicated player from Brazil, and as many of you know, our local store has been heavily restricted due to the new Digital Statute (Law 15.211/2025). Currently, we cannot spend our hard-earned Crystals on most packs because they contain random rewards (loot boxes), which are now restricted.

I understand EA needs to comply with local laws, but the current situation makes the game almost unplayable for F2P or competitive players who rely on Crystal management for roster optimization. I’d like to suggest two possible paths:

Age Verification System: Implement a robust ID verification for Brazilian accounts. Once a user is verified as 18+, the full Crystal store (including packs with RNG) should be restored, as the law focuses on protecting minors.

Fixed-Loot Alternatives: If RNG packs are legally too risky, please consider converting the current '5 to 330 shards' packs into Fixed-Amount packs (e.g., 10 or 20 shards for a set price in Crystals). We already have fixed packs in the game; expanding this to all characters would allow us to continue using our Crystals without violating local gambling/RNG regulations.

We work hard in Grand Arena and Fleet Arena to earn these Crystals. Being forced to use only real money (which is very expensive here) while our Crystal hoards sit useless is frustrating. Please, help us find a middle ground.

May the force be with us all

I would say, even if its crystals and not hard currency, the packs are random and Brazil, and many other countries, view that as gambling,  As much as i sympathise with the op, the random packs where luck is decided on what you get should be completely banned.

I have argued this point with mods over the years that we should have an exact set amount of what we receive as to what is paid for. I think for the new modelling of gaming is content still owned by the game and we have to pray we get the top end of what's on offer.

  • Why would the law exclude packs you can buy with crystals?  A player can obtain crystals for free, so there is no actual money transaction.  I could see this being against the law if you paid money and got a gambling loot box or card pack.  Then it really affects minors.  Are all packs with % chance of loot drop excluded or just those bought with crystal currency?  This law really seems aimed at EA's old Battlefront 2 Loot Box system and the recent New York case involving Valve

  • Could they at least allow the purchase of crystals using a VPN without the risk of being banned?

Making a verification for +18 should be the best solution, other games already did that and they work fine.

Honestly, if CG doesn't do that I know a bunch of brazilians (me included) who will just stop spending real money in this game because there will be no point anymore. People who spend money and crystals on packs won't magically spend only money and stop using crystals.
