No sure how would be over powered than most top 10 group makeups. By themselves the Vets has horrible synergy, and damage. And they are completely depended upon both being alive. The Wedge Biggs combo this is being compared to isnt a far comparison. One they have Rebel tags. Wedges leadership works under all rebels. Biggs has an assist that does decent dmg, and he throws up random buffs. If overpower is the reasoning the should be easy to address rather than just ignore it.

Suck having 2 characters that we had to get to be able to get Rey, and they are both worthless. Without a group tag they arent even viable in PVE. They be destroyed in TB due to no leader abilities. Also from a cannon point of view why are Resistance Pilot, and Trooper more powerful than Vets who have done everything. They can fit in resistance and not be OP thats just tossing an answer to the wind. If you truly think this defend your position. Especially now that we have to have these characters at 7 star. Only version of chew we have than is even close to cannon. This really needs to be reevaluated CG.
