March 16 patch notes said that vulture droids should have been fixed to correctly assist... but it feels like they went the other way and are assisting less than they were before. Anyone having the same experience?Were they assisting too much before and this is a fix? I've been using the Mally in SA since last August and it's effectiveness dived off a cliff after the update yesterday...

The fix was to make the player vulture droids assist with the summoned ones. I'm assuming the summoned ones still only have a percent chance to assist.

It's always been guaranteed, except with the player's vulture droid bc CG does love their ship bugs. It's what makes Malevolence so formidable. This is a pretty major bug that is being reported on en masse.

To OP's point, two officers in our collective reported it yesterday during their GAC battles. Their sep ships also weren't being assisted by summoned droids.

I find it extremely suspect that my first summoned droid stopped assisting immediately after the 2nd summoned droid showed up. The 2nd droid attacked regularly throughout the battle. The first droid? Didn't ever assist again. Now what are the odds that in 8 attacks with a 70% chance to assist it never assisted? That's a bug. Not WAI. Especially when the 2nd ship was assisting every single time.

Yea I have been seeing this as well and just recorded my last match to count them.

I got 3 assists from 11 possible assists.

I hope they didn't accidentally switch around the numbers so there is now a 70% chance of NOT assisting.....

It's not what I would accept, it's what the forums would accept, which was the original point Imasmakya was making.

You're speaking for the entire forums, but you are basing it on your anecdotal perception of it. Your sample size is too small, and therefore invalid.

Each assist roll is an independent event. Has nothing to do with whether the roll before or after, nor with who the player is. It's the size of the data set that matters. If one player keeps track and gets 1k data points, it's no less "anecdotal" than an aggregation of 10 players each getting 100 data points.

This is not statistics or anecdotal samples anymore.
En masse reporting of the summoned vulture droids not assisting after an update indicates a bug (or a stealth nerf). I also report the same problem in all my Malevolence battles.

Admittedly anecdotal. My assist rate was noticeably lower in my TW and GAC fights yesterday. One of my guild TW officers said he had the same experience.

That said, data on the forums and discord is highly subject to selection bias. CG announces a change to Vulture Droids. Some people get noticeably bad RNG the next day. Those people are the ones doing the talking and reporting.

I'm as quick to jump on CG as the next guy, but I don't think we have enough information yet to say anything for certain.

It's not bad RNG it's bugged. Here is a video of 5 battles in a row, 26 turns, no assists from VD second life against buzz droid enemies. You have a better chance at flipping a heads 26 times in a row. Also these are just the battles I recorded, there were a couple before and since (same thing)

Absolutely, which is why I started the thread with a question to see if it was just bad RNG for me at an inopportune time of if others are seeing the same. At this point having done quite a few battles myself and with Hughman's video above I'm pretty certain it's not working properly.
