Incredibly easy by this point? I don't know about that. Mine are 46, 43, 40, and 39 (Dedra). I haven't missed any days or quests. If I've done the math correctly, if I never level anyone else, I will barely get Dedra only to EL 45 before the event starts.
But yeah, you make some good points. I did probably jump to conclusions about CG's intent. The first tier of the event is centered around Dedra, and they'd probably made that decision before Dedra was released.
Your points are well taken. Still, I am annoyed. I'd ideally have liked some acknowledgement from CG like "Hey, I know we'd said before that Kleya would be needed at EL 45 for tier 1. But that ended up changing to Dedra, and for transparency's sake, we should have told you as soon as we knew so that you could prepare."
Maybe I'm just so ready to overreact because the last time, a lot of players, even the more moderate content creators, felt that CG was deliberately withholding information about the event so players couldn't prepare or make informed decisions. That may not be the case this time, though.
For clarity, I didn't mean that it was easy to have every one to L45 right now. I meant that it should be easy to get L45 by the time the eventy starts.
Although I am FTP I do spend a few hundred crystals on the very first toon each cycle to kick start things, and I play Coliseum seriously. I don't expect everyone to be where I am all the time (or I would work harder to stay ahead of the curve to keep collecting r10 mats), but the progression is built into the system and it's pretty easy to jump everyone up some amount each week. I imagine at L39-L46 you're still a touch ahead of the curve, but not much, and finishing somewhere in the 100 ranks, maybe 150-180. Is that about right?
As for being annoyed, I think you're right to be. I would much rather have accurate info than bad info. I just don't see any reason to panic. The event will be around for several weeks and everyone should get their toons to L55 before it ends. All the serious players should have most/all their toons above L60. Because of that, as bad info goes, needing someone at L45 before the end of an event where all the serious players will be L60 is just ... not that serious a problem.
Again, be annoyed! It was wrong info. My main disagreement was with the idea of this being a money grab. Non-serious players don't care enough to spend and serious players will have no trouble hitting well above L45 before the event ends, so we/they really don't have a reason to spend.
