Weekly faction buff

I think it'd be interesting to have weekly faction buffs. So for example, week 1, rebel faction gets buffed, week 2, Empire, week 3: resistance and so on and so forth.

The buff could come in a form of increase percentage of offense or defense or speed or any other buffs, we don't need fancy special powers like they have for special events.

I'm not sure how it'll go, but it'll be interesting to see how some factions may rule the arena given some temporary buffs.
  • And..
    - Change faction every week
    - Invest more in gear, mod, upgrading
    - More crystals to spend
    - $$$

    NOPE!!
  • No, no, no, no, no, no. All this will do is force everyone to use the exact same team.
  • I don't like it unless we get a mod swapping methodology that is efficient. Figuring out what mods to swap each week on all 5+ arena toons? I'd take stability over additional hassle.

Sure. Then you can wait for week 2. Or the weeks when other factions are buffed. =)

This is a very good point. Mod swapping is something that I hadn't considered and it's probably crucial to bring to the changing faction teams into arena.

You don't really have to use the buffed faction. It shouldn't be buffed till it's super duper op. It should just have a like 10% increase in performance thru buffs.
It presents a challenge for you as a player to use your best squad against say.. A buffed Tusken team.

Sooner or later you will get to a point where you have a balanced roster.
Having some factions buffs will have u a preview of how some factions do if they were.. Stronger, faster, etc..
Then you'll have a better focus in developing your roster.
  • Oh.. A simple buff could be: a particular faction gets a temporary additional 5 levels for the week. More health, more offense/defense and doesn't really negate the effect of the mods significantly.
  • Other games do similar things and it's not the end of the world.

But I think a better solution, personally, is to hold weekly events that involve under-utilized characters. They're sort of doing that now, though it isn't every week, and it's getting me to invest in characters that I normally pass over. That said, I'm not spending money to do so (can't afford it right now! It's not a matter of being opposed to spending or being angry with the game--I'm just at a point where $20 a month is better-invested in higher quality food :P ), so maybe a faction boost would make them more money.

They've got better data on income and what is likely to influence people to spend than we do, so I don't doubt that they've considered a faction boost and decided to go another route.
