Devs, how can you promote fairness when us F2P (Free-To-Play) can't even have access to one of your new special characters without paying a $200 USD lump some....not to mention, I'm pretty sure Wedge ...

Don't insult the Bern by lumping him in with the OP. It's clear that the OP is a Wedge fan. Wants him. Doesn't want to pay. Doesn't get Wedge, therefore is upset.
I'm personally not a huge Wedge fan, but for the sake of fairness (in terms of battle tactics), which the developers are seemingly always concerned about balancing, it could possibly be unfair for a F2P player to go up against a well-synergized/strategized party that might clearly always have the advantage, thus making it even more difficult to keep in the high ranks.

Now, this holds true to the Pay-to-Win concept, but aren't the developers trying to keep things balanced? Do you think it would be okay if those who pay more get an unfair advantage? For example: A purchasable 7-Star Darth Vader for $1000 USD. Given the amount of money spent, those who bought him "deserve" to enjoy such unmatched power, right? Naturally, yes, they deserve it, but people will complain about him being "too OP", which in turn will leave the devs in a dilemma between moral balancing and higher paychecks.....and we'd be damned if our $1000 "deserved" toon got nerfed for the sake of balance.
