What abilities would you like to see from Darth Nihilus?

It's almost time! The Lord of Hunger event is so close I'm salivating! While entirely moot, I thought it would be fun to speculate some abilities he may have, based on his lore.

Nihilus has one of the most unique arcs in all of Star Wars, no doubt about it. Although mediocre-at-best as an individual combatant, his raw connection with the dark side of the force is arguably unrivaled in all of Star Wars history. I'd expect to see Nihilus given the Support tag, and have low or average health, attack, and defense, with some really killer abilities. Here's my mock-up of Darth Nihilus, please feel free to add your own ideas for abilities, or critique my own! (I'm going to make this toon reaaaally funky to reflect his story)

Darth Nihilus
Human, Sith, Support

Physical & Special Damage: low
Speed: medium
Protection: Very High
Health: (see unique)

Hungry Strike (basic): Deal physical damage to target enemy. This attack has 100% health steal.

Sith Lightning (special): Deal special damage to target enemy and shock them for one turn. If target is already shocked, stun them for one turn. This attack has 100% health steal.

Force Drain (special): Remove 10% turn meter and inflict one Damage over Time effect on all enemies for one turn. This attack has a 50% chance to stun Jedi and Sith enemies. Darth Nihilus gains one Heal over Time effect for one turn for each DoT inflicted.

Lord of Hunger (leader): At the end of their turns, Sith allies steal 5% health, 5% protection, and 3% turn meter from each enemy

Wound in the Force (unique): Darth Nihilus begins each encounter with the Massive Protection Up buff and zero health. Darth Nihilus has no maximum to his health, and his abilities ignore healing immunity debuffs.


Bam! That's one fun character I'd love to play! I guess we'll all learn what the devs came up with soon, but I just had to share!

    Holy cwap that sounds amazing but the protection buff can't be dispelled would make it better :)
  • I've got a slightly different take to the previous suggestions.

    Basic - Blast an enemy with lightning, applying shock when damaging force-users, or on a critical hit against non-force-users.

    Special - Drain the life out of a target, healing Nihilus for 50% of his maximum health. This attack has no cooldown, but can only be used 5 times per-match.

    Special 2 - Deal AOE damage to the entire enemy team. This attack drains an additional 10% maximum-health damage to force-users, spreading the damage to Nihilus' team as a heal. (Zeta) Applies Fear debuff for 2 turns, which reverses any TM gains into losses (only if the gains are sourced from abilities), also acts as a slow.

    Passive - Nihilus' loses 30% maximum health at the end of his turns. This effect cannot kill him.

    Leader - Sith allies are healed for 10% of their health each time they use a damaging ability. Additionally, they gain 10% offence for each enemy force-user, increased to 20% if the force-user is a Jedi. If an enemy is killed, all Sith allies gain offence-up, plus 30% turn-meter if the enemy is a Jedi.

    I don't really see Nihilus as someone who particularly cares what he's draining, as long as he's draining it. Jedi, Sith, unaffiliated, etc. They all taste the same, so what does it really matter?

    Also, I feel like Nihilus should have to constantly keep an eye on his health. His basic is a much more powerful ability than his drain, but he has to use his drain occasionally because otherwise he's just going to be entirely reliant on his protection to keep him alive, which isn't going to hold up if he gets focused.

    Finally, I decided that giving him a unique Fear debuff would be very fitting to the character. He's one of the most terrifying Sith of all time, so he's going to cause a lot of panic and disorder in the enemy ranks when he unleashes his power like he does in his second special. This also helps to counter a lot of the current meta teams, like Zader, EP, etc, who gain a lot of bonus TM from abilities.
  • My ideas from a thread I posted in character feedback goes like this:

    Darth Nihilus
    Power: 9215 Health: 19,540 Speed: 123 Max Damage: 5980
    Tags: Dark Side, Sith, Support

    Withering Blow (Basic): Darth Nihilus strikes an enemy with his lightsaber dealing physical damage and inflicting a damage over time for 3 turns. If he lands a critical strike apply 2 additional damage over time effects.

    Void in the Force (Special): Dispell all positive and negative effects on Nihilus. Grant Darth Nihilus Offense Up, Speed Up, Potency Up, Defense Up and Retribution for 1 turn plus an additional turn if multiple effects are dispelled this way. 3 Turn Cooldwon.

    Force Drain (Special): Dispell all Buffs and Debuffs from target enemy. Deal special damage to target enemy, dealing an additional 30% damage for each effect dispelled from them. Darth Nihilus recovers health and protection equal to 50% of the damage done. 4 Turn Cooldown.

    Terrifying Presence (Leader): All enemies have -50 potency and -20% offense.

    Lord of Hunger (Unique): Whenever an enemy takes damage from a Damage over Time effect Darth Nihilus gains 2% turn meter and heals himself for 2% of his total HP for each effect that does damage. Darth Nihilus gains 40 potency.

    So that is my idea for Darth Nihilus. He is a drain focused character that is constantly regenerating his health from his DoTs and is the master of removing all effects from himself and his target. As a leader he is demoralizes his enemies, draining their effectiveness and making them weaker attackers.

    From what it sounds like, all new characters will be unlockable. It's now a question of where they will go to get to 7*.
  • I think he should have 5 abilities
    Basic : Weakening Blow- passes protection to deal damage to health directly.
    Special: Devouring hold - stuns and drains enemy 5% health per turn that the stunned enemy is not active . 10 % chance for Death Mask. Nihilus receives equal health that enemy loses.
    Special: Dark side Feast- replenish 40 % of dark side allies health, half that light side. Zeta ... all sith gain 100 % turn meter.
    Unique: Eating time- has 80% chance to remove 10% turn meter.
    Leader: Lord of Hunger: all Allies gain 10% Health on critical hits, all critical hits have 50% chance of tenacity down or speed down.
  • 1. New meta/counter most likely in May after new movie. That gives them only 3 months to get people to invest in soon to be older meta, so 4-6 weeks intervals sound about right.........at least that is what I am thinking.
    2. Nihilus to me is the by far the biggest glass canon. His drain is beyond imagination; but, once he ran into someone like Sid who can resist drain, he is a toaster. Question now is how to characterize force resistance? How about Rey? She knows crap about force but she sure can resist it.......wait, check my #1. B)
