What is the fastest way to gear up a toon?

Or just join a guild doing raids regularly and not spend an entire day running 49 Alts that wouldn't give you any benefit. Raid salvage is not at all needed once you've been 85 for a while.

My main point is that the game is terrible at letting you progress with gear even at low levels. We need so much new gear, but are still gated on cuffs and guns as well as some blue items even. That's pointless and terrible game management at this point in the game.
