More than anything, power creep and the increasing number of legendary characters. I've been playing since May of 2017, and I was finally able to get CLS, JTR, and Thrawn this fall. Partly that's because I didn't plan things out very well during my first year or so of play, but it's also because farming all the required toons takes a long dang time, when you're a "minnow."
I'm a FTP player who buys the occasional $5 or $10 crystal pack, and I only spent the $10 for a marquee toon once. So now, as I've finally caught up with last year's legendary characters, three more appear: Chewie, Revan, and C3PO, each of course requiring long, hard farms of multiple toons. There's no way I'll be able to unlock any of them anytime soon. Such is the game life of a tiny minnow!
It's frustrating, but I understand the business model that drives these games.
As much as I dislike the so many new marquees, I completely disagree with you. It is your fault only.
Why I say that is because I started playing half year after you, yet I have not only cls, jtr, thrawn, but also chewie (7s), c3 (5s), will be finished with Revan in 2 weeks... And im literally ftp, never spent anything.
Completely disagree.
Having to farm useless toons for one legendary is annoying.
My main gripes are ewoks for 3p0 and the veterans for JTR.
I don’t mind farming characters if they’re going to be useful but throwing 6months of resoure at a toon that will never be used after is annoying.
I’ve used my newly powered up Ewoks in every GA so far, and they do their job. And at least half the time I wind up cobbling together a third tier scoundrel or high crit team that uses the vets on offense.
These teams are never going to be your bread and butter, but with the introduction of GA, they’re hardly useless.
