What level is max gear?

I have most of my of main toons to level 7-8, but none above that. Trying to farm gears to get them to a higher level is proving difficult. I have been using all of my daily energy and bonus energy to get ahsoka leveled up to 8 and one day I might get between 0 and 1 Mk 3 chedak comlink prototype salvage. I need 20 I think I'm at 9.

    It's tough man. Purple gear seems to drop at such an insanely slow rate it can take forever to get 50 dental tools and 20 trash can lids. Then you'll notice that 3 of your characters all need these same items... Most characters can only be geared to level 8 with the current level cap but there are a few exceptions that can reach 9. There are enemies with gold gear that I'm guessing starts at level 10, so this should be available someday.
