What was the point of relic 10?

So clearly another pointless addition to character development that serves no purpose other than just one more hurdle to clear for new events. I could understand if relic 10 actually made the charact...

I was just being hypothetical but it's just so pointless to go through all the work of getting to relic 10 just for mods to still have any say in how well the character handles in battle.
