1) The events from the devs are constantly improving. We all loved the different roles the characters played in this one (especially Ben). 2) Even though some people had to farm a toon from 0 shards, there were packs available for purchase and enough time to bring that toon to 7*. 3) Luke is awesome. It's nice to finally get a toon on the first go of an event. Congrats to those that unlocked him. For those that didn't, you'll get him next time. I personally missed Yoda and EP and only 5* R2 and Thrawn. Just don't put off farming what you need until the last minute again. Finish now so that you are ready. 4) We need to continue expanding our rosters (they hinted it for territory battles). Some of us struggle to chase the meta for arena, myself included. Over the past few months, it's been more fun to expand my roster for the rest of the game. 5) High risk / high reward - If it wasn't for the forums and everyone theorycrafting, I wouldn't have started farming Ben and Leia well before the event. Sometimes it pays off to listen to the community. For that, thank you. It was a risk, but it paid off.

I broadly agree with you, but I disagree here. Three or more refreshes a day to get within spitting distance so you can pay $20 to get a character doesn't seem like enough time to me. Most people had STH farmed and geared from Wiggs meta. Farm boy could be useful in P4, but he's the odd one out.

I don't get what you are saying. You claimed that after reworks they are arena viable, but they are not. Both of these toons see only use in TB and in StHan's case Chirpatine P3 for those that haven't moved to teams that solo the phase or Resistance who with bad RNG manage 1,5M.

Clones are still viable. Plenty of people run them for P2 and P4. You could run resistance in one and clones in the other.

You're assuming the majority have as deep of a roster as you do. When people don't have Baze, GK, or DN, Old Ben looks reasonable under a CLS lead.

Chirpatine is still a thing. Again, congrats on having every toon maxed out. The majority of people don't.

From this we can deduce that CLS actually is a mandatory farm if you want to do anything in arena.

Again, congrats on having every toon maxed out. The majority of people don't.

You well know that I don't but at the same time don't mislead newer players, they should not invest in StHan, FBL or OB any more than is absolutely required to pass CLS event. By concentrating on toons that are actually useful will they gain in the long run.

I love reading long term players stating they thought the event would require biggs, wedge and raid han, so they couldn't have possibly known it would require old ben, leia and st han instead.
What about getting more than just 5 characters in case the even't didn't require biggs, wedge and raid han, but required leia, ben and st han?
I'm not a big fan of people saying that it was super obvious that the event would require these specific characters, specially not in hindsight. To me it wasn't that obvious, but i would have been ready no matter what. Simply because i had all the possibly required characters at 7* and reasonably geared or close enough for me to get them within a week.
please note i said long term players.

Exactly this and as they say resource management is very important in this game. I was waiting to get the real information from the devs before committing resources to something I don't want. I'll get my OB to 7* one day before the event ends without spending, but I don't really like forced farming.

I also expected something different. While the first 4 phases have been refreshingly different it's still the same legendary event that requires 7* toons to get a 7* toon. Additionally I expected the flash events to somehow advance the story but ... they are completely meaningless when it comes to Luke's journey. The rewards don't even give gear that players already didn't have fazillions.

I don't know, I feel disappointed overall here. Can't wait for the next forced farm of a toon of no value anywhere else than the next event.

You aren't forced to farm anything. You just won't unlock toons from events. And you are acting like the toons used are bad. After the reworks, they all will find value in arena and raids.

After reworks they're good, sure! But how short a time was there between the rework details coming out and the start of the event? One day? Two?

Look at the rework body of evidence we had before that--Ewoks. Imperial Troopers. How gamechanging were they and how stoked were you to farm them on spec?
