What's your take on light speed tokens?

You can assemble a full GM team simply from ERA LSTs. One of the most powerful non-GL teams in the game. No meta available? LOL.

Most of them are catchup mechanics for new players and lower GP players to spend on to get characters done.  It's all about getting everyone up to R7+ as fast as possible.

As for me personally these LSTs have accelerated farming massively I can't stress how much faster it is with Lightspeed tokens than without it, I'm unlocking 2 GLs and 3 Legendaries in the span of 3 months

LSTs are a phenomenal addition to the game. Players in most ranges of GP can find a use for them. Only a small minority of the playerbase has every character at high enough relics with all zetas applied everywhere that LSTs really offer no upgrade options at all. LSTs are the easing of the kyro crunch that players have wanted for years. I only see a few possibilities for someone seeing LSTs negatively:

1) You're one of the endgame players who are angry at CG for giving other players a shortcut when you had to farm and grind everything without such skips. If this is you, get over yourself.

2) You're a player who can benefit from LSTs, but you've put yourself into decision paralysis. "I won't farm shards or gear for XYZ because what if there's an LST for it next month? I will have wasted these resources." Same thing happened when LSBs were introduced. I saw players posting here whining about wanting the Bad Batch LSB because they don't want to farm Bad Batch to unlock LV, or whichever other outdated unit required for a GL was on their mind that day. If this is you, you're a silly goose.

3) They don't understand how LSTs work and get angry that they can't slap an LST on Bane or marquees released in the last year. If this is you, I pity you.  

You sound like type 2, OP. You're a silly goose. 

I have benefitted greatly from LSTs and I had nearly 13mln GP when they first launched. 

I can honestly say, the LST haven't affected game play.  The biggest gripe I have seen and personally felt, is the Zeta and Omicron crunch.  With accelerated teams, before the Zeta addition to the events, Zeta were very slow and cumbersome to get to finish teams off.  Even with the steep refresh rate, the new system has helped alleviate the zeta issue.  Getting Omicrons is still a pain point.  Also, with the extreme dollar mark up on Kyber LSTs, they are not worth the price for no zeta and no omicrons.  There are better value LSBs available.

Looking at the overall free episode LST, I appreciated the accelerated toon access to G12 (now R1) with dealing with toons for ROTE missions, so CERE, CK, Young Han, Kira, etc.  Bypassing the kyrotech and g12+ finishers has been very nice and let's me focus on other things, like leveling Baylan or JarJar who cannot be accelerated with a token.  

Overall, tokens haven't impacted my account that much personally positive or negative in the PVE environment.  I do see on my shard, others are catching up and closing the gap quickly.  This is forcing me to R9 and R10 PVP toons I would have otherwise waited on so I could level the toons required to unlock PKHO and GLAT to R8 / R9.   They have also accelerated my goal of unlocking Levi sooner rather than waiting on a shard where Profundity still dominates fleets.

Most tokens I have gotten from various rewards and battle passes have gone straight in the dumpster. The tokens in the era store suck!!!  Era currency is extremely tough to get and 3500 currency for 6 star R6 none meta toons is Trash!!!!
