Which of these 5 should I gear 1st?

I was thinking of Trooper because it seems to be the easiest and pilot last.

Pilot - Why gear any of them? Maybe Finn and Poe are playable (again) with the rework, but the only reason to go for Resistance chars is for the mod challenges. Gear them as you need them.
Rey is still useful in her own right. So you should just gear her as a generally decent toon. Pilot if you care about her ship. Finn and Poe might be useful (but probably not really). Trooper is crap, but as you said is easiest to gear. - The answer is none of the above. Go for a better choice like chibaze or tie.
