Why after all these years ...

Because missing buttons only impacts players in a PVP or PVE situation negatively.  If it effected us positively, they'd put a higher priority on it to get fixed.  It cost me a match during GAC too, but their response is "meh, we're looking into it."

Another low priority issue that will get fixed, whenever.  And even if they fix it, it'll pop back up again at some point.
