Why are the Era units’ Armor going down when leveling up?

Guild mate of mine just pointed this out to me. As we level up Kleya or Vel, their Armor and Resistance ratings are dropping. Not sure if this is a display bug or if those values are going up and do...

I seem to remember a post like this before, and there was a perfectly logical explanation to do with how it’s calculated. I can’t remember where it was or how to find it, but I think the armour wasn’t going down because of some shenanigans, even though the number was lower.
