Why do F2P players always have to let you know they're F2P?

Are F2P players the new vegan? Just about every thread has that one guy that pops in and says "I'm F2P blah blah and ea is just after my money blah blah oh did I say I was F2P, well I am..." Do...

F2P is a heavily misused term in this game.

Just because you play with F2P toons...that does not make you a F2P.

For example if you have a maxed level QGJ (an F2P toon) but you spent crystal refreshes and bought credits and gear to max him up. You are not F2P. You are P2P.

True F2P is someone who has not spent a single dime to upgrade their toons.
