Why do I keep getting "rare" byes in the Grand Arena?

I just got my 2nd bye in one GA tournament, screwing me out of around 20,000 points, multiple feats, event rewards, and league rewards. This is now my 3rd bye in 2 official GA's. How can I lessen the...

Half of the "20,000" pts I mentioned above are awarded at the end of the GA round which hasn't happened yet, so your argument isn't sound.
