Why does CG hate their player base?

Seriously.

The new coliseum thing is pretty much loathed as another P2W feature. I put the thing on auto to get the daily, but otherwise ignore it.

The change to forcing people to buy a minimum of 75 units of a part with Mk I raid currency when they can only ever use a maximum of 50 on any given character part node. That means that everyone has to carry at least a minimum of 50% more inventory than they would need and thereby significantly reducing the ability of players to gear up characters. In business, this is called "reduced inventory turnover" and businesses seek to avoid that like the plague.

Then you have the garbage one by one opening of bronzium data cards. This takes forever and unless you use an auto-clicker running for hours and hours and hours at a time, making your computer useless for anything else for the duration, it's a complete waste of time. And it isn't even an issue of CG lacking the resources to add a feature to open at least 10 or 100 of them at a time. I could code that in an afternoon. They CHOSE this pattern of behavior. They CHOSE to be a waste of your time.

Good luck with these decisions CG. If engagement of SWGOH Youtube content creators is a legitimate proxy for your immediate business future, maybe dust off them resumes and explain to your future employer how pushing dramatically reduced inventory turnover onto your customer base somehow makes business sense and magically doesn't completely **bleep** your business' credibility.

No right, because pointing out legitimate issues in the game (that neither of you have adequately addressed beyond "subjective" when it clearly is not subjective) and the management of the game somehow makes me a troll.

For all I know, both of you are the same CG customer support shill talking to yourself.

Hey, everyone. Let's watch the personal comments and respect each other's opinions. I'll need to lock this thread if it doesn't get back on track. You're all welcome to be critical of the game, but please keep it constructive. That is also the best way to get the attention of the devs.

The change in bulk purchasing was brought up by whom precisely?

    Some CG customer support shill?

I fail to see why someone would want to screw themselves over.

As far as who hates coliseum, the metrics are in and you are clearly in the minority.

There's been a few topics.  This is the one I remember and got involved:

Which is what I said, it's still subjective though;  your opinion vs mine.

There's a few issues I have with this, which don't make it conclusive.  Don't get me wrong, I'm generally in agreement with most of your points.  I believe though that there is a lot of 'opinion' here than fact.

Firstly, you cannot trust anything a YouTuber presents as 'fact'.  They're making a video for you to watch.  The more dramatic, the more views and the better they do.  They want you to watch their overly-exaggerated PoV video.

Purchase graphs are not a constant.  They're continually going up and down.  There are peak and troughs for reasons we don't know or forget.  You can present any graph to some point in the past that looks very poor in comparison.

I believe, that spending (rather disappointingly) was up during the first few characters of Coliseum.  This probably buoyed CG into believing they were on the right path. So, it's difficult to see the 'true' figures.  Figures from before, figures from now and 3 characters in and the 'real' long-term figures.

The worry, and what probably has happened (in my opinion) is that some long-term gamers have quit.  I took a month of, seriously considering quitting (because of the PvP changes) and evaluated continuing.  These have been replaced by new players that can see a better way in the game if they spend a fair bit of money.  The Coliseum offers a very good avenue into the game for those little whales that want to grow into blue behemoths of the deep oceans.

What does this actually mean though?  If the spenders that have gone are basically pass purchasers and the ones coming in are 7 star Coliseum players; how many of the new whales replaces the sporadic spenders?   Is the environment healthier for this change in player-base?  Will these new players stay or get bored and move on?  In which case, were CG right in the distinct P2W moves they've made in the last 6 months?

I'm pretty sure Mr Clickbait YouTube doesn't know the answers, no matter how much he shouts.

I like you think CG have made a mistake, but..............it's my opinion.  I think if............(saw this in another worry-mongering youtube video), that if CG plan to introduce a new Relic level every 6 months, I'll have to go; I'm not a big spender.  However, I am competitive and love my PvP.

I think we (you and I) are right to be worried, and I think CG is in a precarious position that they may not fully understand.  However, it's just what I think eh......my subjective opinion.

Was that me?  If so I'm sorry.  I meant it in a 'loving' way rather than a direct insult.  If Duncan took offence, I'm sorry, it wasn't meant to be offensive.  If I need to apologise or edit, I'm happy to do so.

Look, I'm not going to be gaslight by some obvious CG customer support shill busy trying to redefine what the word "subjective" means.

The last marketing guy that tried to tell me that obvious market research data didn't mean what it obviously meant got fired, and he used less than half the words you did in your post.

So...lets make some predictions based on current market trends and the exact same Youtube data that you seem so dismissive of....SWGOH will continue to experience a drop off in player engagement from the new, mid tier, and older player bases.

Let's check back in July and see if I'm correct.

I know the other person you're talking about has an account, but it's up to them whether they want to share it.  Maybe, if you check their forum history you'll find it, as they've shared it before.  If either of us were Customer Support, there'd be a lot less threads about CS that have no idea about the game!

Well I think I'm done here then.  You don't take critical feedback well and refuse to see things from another's point of view.

You go and shout at the clouds.  I'm sure they've done plenty of things to upset you.
