Why extremely rare event

To push you to buy now ?
To let people who have full rebels teams get something that makes them feel special for awhile?

I personally would have preferred if an empire team would have been the key to unlocking palpy, just as Jedis were for yoda.

This makes me farm toons I despise... Again

But to make this come back next Christmas or something like that why? It's punishing the real empire fans that tend to want to unlock empire toons not rebel scum

They were hoping that it would make people splash huge amounts of RL cash to try and get him.

And for me it probably would have, except they offered no realistic way for me to get the Ackbar, Lando, or Wedge shards I want for my rebel team. They should have stuck Wedge in aurodium with a bunch of rebel secondary drops and they would have made a killing.

I was expecting, almost planning on a bundle with wedge in it once the event went live, and I would have spent that money without thinking. the bundle they ended up releasing is such a joke.

lol they gave us about a month notice. Jesse did an interview and said to start farming rebels. didn't say why but noneven the less we were informed, if you cared to look. stop with the whining already

I wouldn't call that a months notice. I don't feel I should have to subscribe to a podcast that is, as far as I am aware a fan made podcast, just to get developer news. That that podcast was the only source of that information was disappointing. I should think that the best way for that information to be disseminated to the players would be through in-game mail and official forum posts.

I am an active player and i assume like many players, I didn't hear about this "heads-up" until 2 days before the event started.
  • The writing was on the wall when it came to affiliation tags for qualifying for events. the military might event was a very clear indicator to me I needed a full rebel team. Heck they even buffed Biggs and wedge is the log in toon leading up to this events so I don't have much sympathy for people who say we needed more warning.
  • I like how some half @ attempts are made to justify with lore And rule of 2 lol

That's has not been a rule for most of the story anyway. And would only apply with siths not empire

Just because you need Jedi to unlock Yoda does not automatically mean that all future events should follow the "synergy matches reward character" format; quite frankly if you use a single occurence (Yoda event) to extrapolate for future events (Emperor event), well, you're really just making a poorly educated assumption and it didn't work out. sorry about that.

This. Plus I feel like the events make sense. The Yoda event is based on him training the Jedis, hence it being a Jedi-exclusive event. Palpatine has only had three apprentices that he has trained in lore - Maul, Tyranus and Vader. So, having a Sith training event wouldn't make sense. Would he train the Empire and/or would the Empire be attacking their Master? Nope. Would the Rebels be trying to defeat Palp? Yep. Jedis would have also worked, but it wouldn't have been good to have two Jedi-exclusive events, so Rebels was a good decision by EA/CG.
