Why is diversity not encouraged?

Krennic (zeta) or Tarkin as lead, Deathtrooper, Shore, Snowtrooper.
Han zolo stuns thrawn at the start and this team is toast. Period. It requires luck and lots of rng for empire team to beat a good cls team. It's 50/50 at best and that's on offense.
You're not toasting a stormtrooper with crit immunity + defense up and a ton of more defense from his unique.
The team I mentioned had no thrawn and you're wrong. Guy on our launch shard runs 4 empire chars with DN, 2 of them are G12 (Tarkin/Stormtrooper like G12 makes a difference on them). https://swgoh.gg/u/nidhogg/

Cls has OVERRUN arena, it's all the proof needed. IF what you say were true there would be diversity but there is not. I'm on a Dec 15 so yah I know how to play. I can get first second third somedays just like your friend. It's not impossible.
It's not about if it can be done, but rather how the lack of diversity ruins any fun there once was in arena.
Just because the vast majority uses CLS, has literally nothing to do with diversity nor does it prove that there's no diversity. Some statistics can hardly be considered evidence as to why you can't beat them with certain characters. You can be diverse, run an empire squad and take your 1st spot anytime you want to - but you don't because there's no point in running an inferior squad that performs worse on the defense.
There is diversity, just people don't want to be diverse - two different things.
If being diverse means you are running an inferior squad, it means there is no diversity. You proved my point.
Inferior on defense, able to beat a superior squad on the offense -> plenty of diversity. I'm not running that squad, it's someone on my launch shard who can beat any CLS squad without running CLS/Nihilus. And they aren't reported in the usage rates?

Resistance team is trash man. Why are you trying so hard to be wrong? Han Solo stuns poe and I rarely lose protection on anybody. 17 of the top 20 are CLS teams in my shard. 29 of 50. Many of the others have CLS running Wedge lead. 2 resistance teams, 1 first order team and a handful of Rexs running the toons i mentioned. There is almost no diversity in Arena. You can't argue with the numbers man. Those usage rates are so far down that you arrowed...
