So, you're mad that most of the whales in the game are allowed to play? What do you think would happen if they actually banned everyone that fell under the account sharing?
Also, the rules *do* apply to everyone, it's just that everyone else is smart enough not to DM the head of cheating enforcement about a problem with an account they shouldn't be using.
1) We all know it would be a nightmare. If CG were to do that, they would lose out. However, if they were to do that it would tell us that rules are rules and they should be followed.
2) Do they? Negotiating with cheaters who spent money, yet perm-banning someone for a minor offence is applying rules to everybody, yes. But, there is not point in rules if punishments for disregarding those rules are not equal, or handed out fairly. Say you were doing a really important test for school etc. One guy cheats on and during the test, and is only given a minor deduction to their marks. You bought someone to help you study for this test so you could pass. The teacher finds out and you get an instant 0. What would be your reaction.
It’s not the best of analogies but I think it gets the point across.
I agree, if you cheat, it should be a perma-ban regardless. But it never has been, so that's not new. They have also always shown deference to the whales, so that's not new either.
When you really boil it down, they are CG's rules, they can enforce them or not at their discretion, and dole out punishments as they see fit, whether you like it or not.

Look rules especially rules on cheating are not really enforced especially if you pay CG a lot of money.
On the other hand if you get your hands on a kraken account and make youtube videos to promote the game that is a permanent ban offense and no negotiations will occur. One time and your done forever.
So we learned it's better to cheat and pay than to be critical of CG. Well some learned that I already knew it. People have been cheating for the longest time some guildmates cheated openly and were not even banned but they spent a lot of money so that provally influenced the decisions CG made.
If I was a non cheater whale who spent thousands and thousands to compete and found out others who we also spent got to cheat and pick their suspension time when caught I would be irate!!!
Luckily I've done my share of things over the years to help me progress like a p2w account while still being f2p.
We've always known CG doesn't care about cheating. Not sure why now it's a big deal. And AFAIK Ahnald's account only got a 1 week ban. But it doesn't even matter, because he'll never be able to spend on it due to some region restrictions.
However, this is a privately owned company and we agree to their rules by playing. If they want to selectively enforce the rules that is their prerogative. You can accept it and keep playing, or reject it and quit. Or I suppose reject it and keep playing, but if you expect them to even mention this at all ever, you're sorely mistaken. - Persimius5 years agoSeasoned Ace

Could have fooled me since this game that caters to the minority has been going for almost 5 years. "StarSon;c-2121867" wrote:

To be honest this game has only stayed alive due to the Star Wars license. Had it been any normal game it would‘ve been long gone.- Either use zero tolerance on all known/proven violations of ToS or use discretion in all known/proven violations of ToS. Just as things like HotUtils and swgoh.gg adds immeasurable value to the game, Ahnald's use of the transferred account to whale in light of the test server shutdown added much value as well.
On one hand, CG used discretion for a caught kraken hacker while showing no discretion for Ahnald, who clearly wasn't using the transferred account for any nefarious purposes. The lack of consistency and transparency is the real issue here on top of their lenient punishment for the hacker. - tward9305 years agoNew Spectator

This is true, however, the minority of players is the majority of the income. Money talks as the saying goes. Not saying the should cater to the whales that cheat, because as someone that has spent a very decent amount on this game have shut my wallet and I know others that have as well.
I never expect a game to catch all the cheater but I will not support one that negotiates with then. "StarSon;c-2121865" wrote:

Well of course they absolutely have the right to selectively enforce the rules they like. They even have the right to just grab the money and close down the game. We don't have the right to order them to do whatever we want. What CG is doing now is basically killing itself by trying to "exercise their right". I don't see how this makes any sense both from a player and the company's perspective.
Also Ahnald's account is PERMA-BANNED, but the cheaters got a 1 week or several weeks ban."YOUniverse;d-230901" wrote:
Hotsauce's HotUtils is literally a bot you pay someone to use that logs into your account. How is that not against ToS?
you get a message at launch to use at your own risk, it's against the ToS, etc. etc."DarthJarJar123;c-2121910" wrote:
