Why is old ben is not a rebel?
in my opinion old ben and chewee are rebels.... why they are not??

In Episode 4; Luke, Han, Chewie, Old Ben were not part of the Rebellion until after they rescued Leia from the Death Star. Technically, ST Han should not be Rebel either. Ben did not make it off of the Death Star during the rescue so never had a chance to join the Rebellion and help destroy the first DS.
Only after the rescue did Leia "invite" them into the rebellion by pleading with them to help destroy the DS.
Old Ben helped Luke and Leia because he was one of the very few in the galaxy who knew who both of them were, not because of the Rebellion.
