TLDR; use the right tools and your conquest experience will be much better
There is plenty to complain about when it comes to conquest. Increased energy cost, forced crystal investment, forced increased time investment while keeping prize boxes the same--that's just a scam. Disk swapping should be free for everyone. Stacking overprepared on everything. NS without Zombie but with overprepared 9000 to make it impossible to use zombie to complete feats, which was possible in the early iterations of conquest. Useless gear like mk4 stun guns in prize boxes. Feats that don't work (remember the DR Deathmark fail?). Bugs bugs bugs. Feats getting reset to 0. Turn meter preloaded into oblivion. Not releasing updated disk lists on time. Delays and cancelations due to bugs and exploits.
Playing conquest is tedious, but at the end of the day, it's optional. You are given tools, it's up to you to use them. The institutional knowledge of the community is invaluable, I can't imagine anyone would bother with this tedium were it not for the disk combinations that the community figures out and shares with all players. There are powerful tools available in the current iteration of conquest, and if the Maul and Boba Fatt "seasons" are any indication, we can expect those themes to continue, match the new conquest unit and involve appropriate factions/toons.
Han and Boba have no obvious synergy, but they're both Scoundrels. Stick Han under BAM lead, equip 3 Amplify Agony disks and you can get wins with Han at 1% stamina. Now, you won't always get 3 stars on a node, but ever since I've stopped worrying about 3-starring nodes, my experience with conquest has been much less frustrating. Objective is to win and complete feats. Winning flawlessly is a bonus. Ofc if you shoot for the red box, you need every star you can get, but I have also stopped trying to grind for the red box and once again, my experience has been much less stressful. Some things just ain't worth it. I will only be getting Maul after this current conquest concludes. I can wait a few more months for Boba. I ain't in a hurry.
Amplify Agony and Caustic Emissions also work wonder with zPalp lead and Vader on the squad. Mandos gain a unique locked buff which gives Sith Eternal Emperor turn meter. Bossk lead BHs will regenerate health and protection like crazy with all the debuffs going on.
