talk about lootboxes and gambling...wrong thread, my bad. The other thread on this topic is getting derailed into talk of what constitutes a money grab and what doesn't. "NicWester;c-1584911" wrote:

True and gambling addiction.
It’s a good thing by not requiring ship energy to generate raid tickets. It’s not “dumb” or a plot or any other reason. Their reasoning was sound so not to disrupt our current raid ticket generation or cost of raids. I fully support their decision on this and appreciate it."ChickenFett139;c-1584953" wrote:

And how would it actually "disrupt" status quo ? Making raid ticket cap free of charge (In crystals) would be hardly disruptive for any player. Is gaming community bent to a degree that no one can accept QoL fix without having to pay for it?
What a time to be alive...
And so-called reasoning aside and to make my statement sound: they could have made ship energy generate raid tickets and leave everything else untouched. Simple, undisruptive.- I really don't mind that they didn't add that energy to ability to earn raid tickets. The back-end coding would be too problematic to get it to us quickly.
It is kind of a bummer though, I feel like they could have given us the ability to meet 600 without a refresh and then claimed it was to help alleviate the gear crunch. That's how I would have done it at least. Then just keep pointing to the new PvE and freeing up 50 crystals to stymie all the complaints. See, I'm more twisted than CG. "Xezee;c-1585477" wrote:

Why not direct your question directly to CG by tagging a member of the team for a proper response or read the thread with the decision for yourself.- braskme7 years agoNew SpectatorI'm hoping that it counts towards today's guild task of "spend energy". I'm guessing it will, since there's no reason it shouldn't, but I suppose I shall see in a few hours.

That guild task specifically states cantina and regular energy, so unless that changed it will not count there either"NicWester;c-1584844" wrote:

Well if that's what they really wanted, they wouldn't give every active player a couple hundred free every day.
Of course they would. It's another way of encouraging spending in case of those who are not willing to pay on a whale level, but they would spend some money: 'Hey, I got 1350 crystals from the free stuff, so I refresh cantina energy once, and regular energy once, and I will still have 1200 crystals, so if I buy a Pouch of Crystals, I can also get an Mk5 Stun Gun Prototype from shipments for 1400, and I can get someone to G11 just in time before TW.'
I'm aware that the majority of EA/CG's revenue is not coming from this, but this psychological approach still exists.- braskme7 years agoNew Spectator

Well that's lame, right up there with fleet arena not counting towards PvP attempts. "Spang;c-1585652" wrote:

You really can fit anything into your grand unified field theory, can't you?
New stuff? Plot to take your money.
Rework old stuff? Plot to take your money.
Giving you stuff for free? Plot to take your money.
