Why the negative backlash for new shard farming update

As a free to play gamer, you are now getting less currency to get endgame gear

Nobody is complaining about the shard farming, its the reduction in Shard Shop currency that's the problem

But yea, it is kind of a downer to see this come out when I have less than a dozen toons left to 7*.

Ship shard drops didn't double but the currency amount per shard did so the net gain/loss is zero.

Everything in the most important shop is doubled in prices.

Full character drop on bronziums, login character shards and shard drops from assault battles aren't --> resulting in halving the value of these shards.

This is a big crush in the face of long time players using shards gained anywhere in the game simply to buy the painful G12 gear in the shard shop. Just a move towards "Buy more packs" by CG

Simple maths of the value change of shard currency:

A morning prior to the change:

Login Char: 6 shards
Galactic War: 5 shards
Farming BTL Y wing: 1 shard Ima-Gum di
Bronzium drop: 2 shards, 1 Full char Ewok Scout -> 10 shards = 12 shards in total
Cantina Store: One buy 5 shards
Galactic war store: Two buys 10 shards
Rebel roundup assault battle Tier 1 - 3: 42 shards in total

SUM: 81 shards -> x15 = 1230 Token for the shard store

Now we go shopping

18 stun guns : 558 (3 buys)
6 Carbs: 186 (1 buy)
8 Medpack: 360 (2 buys)
Cost 1104 , leftover 126 Token

And nowadays -> the same shard drops as before under the new drop rules:

Login Char: 6 shards
GW: 10 shards
Farming BTL Y wing: 2 shards Ima-Gum di
Bronzium drop: 4 shards, 1 Full char Ewok Scout -> 10 shards = 14 shards in total

Assault battle shard drops have also been doubled iirc. The only thing that has changed is the full toon drop from bronziums.

Nope assault battle is excluded they said. Thats minimum 86 shards a month halved. Plus 42 from login bonus. Plus bronzium full character shards. That makes up a substantial nerf.
What are the chances they'll add another 1 or 2 salvage pieces in future to the daily prize box. Difference being we dont get to choose what gear that gives us. Meaning we'll have to farm it anyway.

As the primary impact of these changes, Accelerated Characters have their Shard distribution doubled in most modes:
Combat nodes drop 2 Shards instead of 1. This increases to 4 during Double Drops.
Store Shipments provide twice as many Shards for the same amount of currency (ex: 10 for the price of 5 previously).
Includes Galactic War and non-Journey Guide Events. (ex: Assault Battles)
