Let's hypothetically say it does take 2 years to get MT (or any other toon) through the estimated farming timeline ... there's a huge difference between someone feeling entitled to getting a toon fast vs something that takes TWO YEARS. It's a ridiculous number. And this is coming from someone who maxed MT out on day one. As much as I'd love to preserve the premium aspect of being P2P, two years is a ridiculous and lame amount of time to diligently farm a toon (barring any double drop events that pop up along the way to speed up the process).
At this point - why not just drop the pretenses? Just either make a toon $300 out of the gate sans mods/gear and leave it as is. If someone wants to buy it, more power to them. If not, don't create some insane system where people have false hope they can patiently acquire a toon that will almost certainly be diminished by the inevitable power creep (especially in a span of years!).
