Actually...they take longer than that for new players.
I've been playing 6 months and don't even have GK unlocked yet. It might take 6 months straight farm if you hit 12 shards a week from day 1, but for most people its going to take a few months to get into a HAAT guild, and I'm sure its getting harder to find HAAT capable guilds willing to carry you for 600 daily tickets because you end up hurting them in TB compared to them just finding a more productive member.
Same for farms like Baze or Nihilus...it might take 6 months with free energy and 5 daily nodes...but you can't start farming those nodes until level 80 something, which even with spending some money on crystals and doing multiple daily refreshes will take you a couple months minimum.
So basically you guys saying OMG ITS A YEAR+ FARM is just like...so what? Some guy who is starting the game today and is only willing to spend maybe 20 bucks a month on this game realistically is already looking at several such farms to get some toons up to 7 stars. Maybe you can reduce some of them down a bit...but just like MT farm its going to require $$$ or prioritizing your in game crystals.
I've been playing since about halfway through this January and I'm less than 70 shards off of both baze and nihilus 7* - and I started farming both of them much later than I could have (I 3 starred the missions with the same squads I'd had for over a month with no new upgrades or mods). I also have GK unlocked and I didn't start farming him until I could actually contribute to the raid, no 600 ticket carries - none of these farms take even half as long as these new ones will take, even taking into account starting from level 1
On top of that, new players can't just magically start farming these characters. The ewok event is actually genuinely difficult unless you've dropped everything for a period of time to farm ewoks and the same for Talzin although it's a bit easier. You still have to make a conscious effort to gear up for the events; I still can't clear either event (crushed in the ewok one, NS not farmed enough for NS one) so acting as though you'll be able to start farming these events day one just isn't true
