The 5k crystal pack for 330 shards is random amongst the toons listed or can you select the one you want?

While that is technically true, 1299 crystals for 10 to 330 shards is not quite the same as 5000 for 330. Sure, you MIGHT get 330 but the odds are you will get a number of shards MUCH closer to 10.
That being said, I do agree with you.
Unlikely CG will do anything about it when a solution (at least in their eyes) already exists.

Tbh, with those 5000 crystals and the X4 drop rn on AC Characters, you can do pretty much the same lol
My Lando went from 4 stars to 6 and a half stars with only 6 cantina refreshes (hoard from yesterday, so a total of 600 crystals)- This is how you are going to feel after you buy that

About the data cards, I would be willing to spend crystals and/or actual money buying data cards so I can acquire character shards. My issue is as follows. When I look at, for example, the Empire faction pack, of the character shards available, there are only two characters that I own that are below 7 stars. How do I know I will get shards for a character that is below 7 stars?
Another example was the Anniversary Character Trove Pack (330 shards for 5000 crystals). As of the time the pack was released, out of the 123 toons being offered, only 17 of my characters were not already at 7 stars. That's roughly a 1/14 chance. Same question, how do I know I will get shards for a character that is below 7 stars?
According to the Pack Probabilities, everything is random. This is a huge turn off for me and in turn, I don't buy the packs. Have you ever considered tweaking the algorithm so that characters that are below 7 stars get the priority?
TL:DR - Until there is a guarantee that I won't get a toon I already have at 7 stars, I won't be buying any of these types of character packs. I want to buy, but I'm not going to pay for toon that is already at 7 stars.
