I got in early on the zeta train... I get 1 a day (with the occasional missed day because of how rewards work). Plus the rewards from the challenge which I unlocked pretty early. I sacrificed ship leveling a bit but spent some cash early to get them to a good spot and typically finish in a top spot.
It was a new and interesting thing to play around with and so I devoted the resources to attain them.
