Hi @PlayerJ ! @MasterSeedy told me I needed to see your comment - thanks for the shoutout!
I’m really thrilled CG is working on the squish. The formula they came up with is going to be super beneficial for all players who join GAC, across the board.
I haven’t read this full thread so I don’t know what has already been said, and I haven’t done a super in depth study in zeta economy. But from these later posts I think Seedy basically has the right of it. Every bottleneck is resources in vs resources out. That includes zetas.
Zetas are interesting because it’s really hard to speed up acquisition. You get them through paced events, guild events, and fleet. If you let your roster develop at a “normal” pace through farming, zetas usually keep up with your need.
But if something happens that makes you need zetas a lot more quickly, then demand outpaces supply. For many players who spend, this happens if you buy kyros or shards to break through THOSE bottlenecks more quickly - zetas are just where your next constriction happens.
Honestly, I think the recent zeta crunch for most players I have talked to happened because CG was really nice to us and gave us a lot of roster boosts very quickly, which caused a demand spike. Lightspeed bundles jumped up a lot of toons and lead to new high-zeta-demand GLs. That hit at the same time as the JKCK came back with low barrier to entry (but high zeta demand) and at the same time as accelerated drops for Leia toons (zeta demands on the toons, and high zeta GL). So: bottleneck.
If that’s a conspiracy, it’s the kind I like! It’s been a really exciting time for roster development for my guildmates, even if they’re also low on zetas and omis.
