There definitely
is a zeta crunch, but it depends on where you are in the game.
If you're a Day One/early player and have kept up with releases along the way, sure it probably doesn't seem that bad. If you're a newer players but not very competitive just moving along at an average pace, then yeah it's probably not that bad either. If you're a competitive player who's been playing few years, trying to keep up and work up the backlog, then yeah there's a crunch that's very difficult to overcome. You can't even farm zetas with energy anywhere, and you can farm omicrons!
Not sure where you get 1.5 zetas each, most new releases need more like 2-4.
I have
always felt pressed for zetas, long before the LS bundles came out. They only compounded the problem that already existed for some of us. How many of us? I have no idea, but judging by the fact that this isn't a new complaint and it's been a matter of repeated discussion for up to maybe to a year now, I'd say it's not a negligible minority.
I wouldn't mind a monetized solution to the problem in the form of packs, if they were reasonably priced.
I would also love better ways to acquire them in game. For one, they could add them to the new Legends store. It's kind of shocking that omicron mats can be purchased, but apparently zeta mats cannot?

I think there isn’t a zeta crunch. You get about 5 zeta’s a month, that’s 60 a year. You get about 15 new toons a year that need 1.5 each and a GL that needs 6. That’s only 30ish a year. Now if you pick up the game fresh obviously there is like a 200 Zeta backlog you need to work through but you will still get through it eventually.
It’s a little crunch but not egregious like they have made things from time to time.
