100% TM units

Recipe for disaster. With how many units "gain 100% tm" from whatever it may be... they don't actually gain 100%tm. It's next in line 100% tm. What happens if Vader kills someone with his culling blade and Anakin was on the other team? Who goes first? I mention it because I have 2 units that have that specialty, Biggs and Ani yet sometimes two or three characters will go before Ani does or Biggs after getting hit by a crit. It's insanely annoying. How is it done?

Is it possible to have a toon that is ready to take a turn actually lose TM and not take it?

For instance HK-47 scores 3 crits, gains 150% TM. Enemy QGJ was at 100%, goes first and attacks HK-47 with basic, removing 30% TM: Is HK-47 now going next (because he is/was at 100% TM), or is he back at 70%, and will go after anyone has more than that?

HK will be at 70% TM so if another character is higher in TM they will go next. I used this all the time with Rex vs droids.
  • I'm SOOO sick of it!! A unit falls below 50% health and my Anakin gets "100%" tm and then hk goes, gets the crits, gets 100% tm, attacks another time having another unit go below 50% health giving Anakin "100%"tm again, meanwhile the crit attack gave Biggs "100%" tm but he didn't get it either so that's 3 moves I just got cheated out of! Absolute bull****. Anakin finally goes and then Biggs should go right? No, Anakin's hit gave a relentless barrage to B2 and he immediately go. ****.

I run an AA squad in arena and have had the following situation happen many times:

My QGJ has AA's TG applied, hits enemy toon with a special, killing them or taking them into yellow. QGJ & enemy JKA both get 100% TM. My QGJ gets to go first, and I hit enemy JKA with his basic, removing 30% TM.

The other day it happened and I landed a stun on JKA before he got back to 100%. Then took him out before he got another turn. It was glorious.

Yes. I do it regularly with Grievous's laugh against JKA + Wiggs or Rex-led teams. For a long time it was the only strategy I had to deal with them (and the only strong benefit of that ability). Recently though, it doesn't seem to have been working very well, if at all.

I agree. There's so much tm gain in this game. You can have your qgj at full turn meter ready to dispel sthan, then 5 other people catch up to him and go before him. Very frustrating. I think they should have people go in the order they reached full tm, instead of randomizing it

but then you'll have a minor or game-breaking bug when you have two characters of the same speed reaching 100% TM at the same time

this code prevents some deadlock where both players can't move and we are in infinite suspension

It's trivial to code it like this:

    1) Whoever reaches 100 TM goes first
    2) If two or more characters reach 100 TM at the same time, choose randomly.

This is the way they should do it.

While I agree this is the most logical way to run it, I disagree with it being trivial. If it was, I'm sure we'd have seen it by now. The biggest disadvantage I can see with it is that it would make the already bad 'speed race' even worse. At least now, it's effectively capped where you submit to chance once you get to a certain speed.

I have no doubt at all that my droids would become ridiculously OP if they ran it this way. Try and picture it in practical terms. Speed is already becoming the most vital stat. This solution would make it essential. Everyone would cover their toons in speed mods. Those without would die... every single time.

This game works because of the random element in several mechanics: crit chance, potency vs tenacity... hit vs miss (!). By going for this 'fair' approach you're effectively proposing to unravel the game slightly. It would be akin to saying it's a good idea that if my Teebo's potency is higher than his target's tenacity, he should suck their TM away... every time (and if it isn't, he will never reduce their TM).

I may have gone off on one there but I'd imagine it's situations like this that have prevented it from becoming 'fairer'.

    Just a thought. (",)

What's that? A game mechanic poorly designed that takes all strategy out of a strategy game? Sounds like an EA game.

Actually, it adds strategy back in. Otherwise, offense is simply the exact same thing every single time. For example, I run Wiggs/Lando/Stormy/RG. When I face Rex leads, Wedge and Lando can't just open with their AOEs. Instead, I have to use strategy to limit the turn meter gain I give them, by selectively targeting individual opponents. If the TM mechanic didn't function the way it does, I could open with their AOEs every time.

    Hahahahahahaha.

Yeah sometimes it works for you and sometimes you get jammed spaceballs style.
