6 dot mod first

What kind of mod should we slice to 6 dot first ? An arrow mod ?
  • going with all arena spped arrows first, then crit dmg/offense primaries for attackers, health/defense/potency/tenacity on others, protection primaries last but this depends on toon (eg. i will slice to 6dot protection on thrawn before health circle on DN, cuz thrawn can use the +1 speed more).
  • I upgraded a speed arrow that also had offense, health, and defense. I am focusing on my fastest mod set, first.

Like someone else said in a different post- you want to increase speed, but, invest in a mod with secondaries that will benefit your character/roster if speed doesn't roll. Health, protection, offense...even tenacity and defense (depending on the mod and its allocation).
  • slicing arrow will give you 2 speed. slicing speed secondary will give you 1 speed. i think that generally, the slicing from 5E to 6A isnt for the speed.
i do think, that you want to choose the ones with best secondaries overall. i mean, not the ones with flat defense and % defense, or tenacity.. but the ones with offense flat and speed, and offesnse % or CC %, or potency % if you need. also, imo, Crit Damage triangles are the best for this slicing. 6% more CD is nice. if you have a mod with CD triangle, offense flat, speed, offense % and CC %, id suggest slice this thing first.
i sliced non-arena mod (because arena is all about speed, and this kind of slice isnt about speed) of wampa. triangle of CD, with offense flat and speed. (also protection and HP%, but who cares). the 6% CD bonus, with bit more offense and 1 more speed is maybe a small bump for this price, but for someone who stacks, like wampa, it is a good thing, since it multiply eventually.
it made me finish the p2 on my haat solo before it got to enrage. it just shows how much of a bump it gave him.
in general, i would say that slicing for 6A is for raids and stackers, or frequent attackers.. zAV for example.. more offense is more offense. CLS attacking a lot in raid making it bit more worthy.
the slicing from grey->green->blue->purple->gold, id say on arena mods, when you have chance to bump up the speed.

I disagree on that one. Assuming that no CD set is used a 6% increase from 186% to 192% CD will only make you crits around 2.1% stronger and 1.9% if you are using a CD set. It's still better than a protection primary for sure but not substantially better than slicing square (transmitter) mods to 6E (5.88 - 8.5% offense), which will increase the dmg of all your attacks including crits by roughly 1.5%.
It generally depends on the character which mods should be sliced to 6E first. If you are running defense sets on a tank it makes sense to slice the diamond (processor), whereas toons that already use health primaries will benefit a lot from the added 10% when slicing those. If every single point of speed counts for your arena team the speed arrow (receiver) might be an option, too.
