My thinking is the same with my first zeta will be Maul (I have him at 7*). I know that Zader would be better for raids, but I think as a F2P player going well in Arena is extremely important as the currency of the game is crystals.

Yes, Zader is more versatile, but Maul is better in Arena and that should be the focus.
