Arena & GW team

Was just wondering if anyone could find me a good team for GW and squad arena, can't even finish GW daily anymore.

Characters: https://swgoh.gg/u/darthyoda/collection/
  • Arena -

You really need to get Wedge. Then have Wedge, Biggs, Leia, STHan and...Boba or Lando really...

I have to be honest - I woudn't advise anyone to focus too much on GW that much. Just put together two or three good synergistic squads and they will eventually reap dividends in the GW naturally.

You've already got the beginnings of a half-decent Empire team - Vader (Lead), Royal Guard, Moff, Tie Pilot, Snowtrooper. Gear and mod these up.

So now you have a Rebel team and an Empire team...which you need for R2.

Start farming Phoenix too. You need them for Thrawn.

So- those three teams have three goals - Arena success, R2 and Thrawn. Build them up and you then, naturally, have 3 good squads for GW

IMO this is just generally good advice for GW until you're easily clearing it on auto. I usually will just basic the last one or two guys on the last couple of nodes so my cooldowns are all ready for the next battle.
  • I am auto-clearing GW with my phoenix team. But I have been clearing it ever since I started playing (hit lvl 40) with the exception of ONE GW. It still haunts me because I could have easily have done it if I wasn't too tired and hasty. Here are some tips n tricks for playing GW:

    1. Prolong the fights as much as you can (when in your favor). Pick them off untill you have 1-2 opponents left (preferably a chewie tank that doesn't do much by himself) And then pick it off with basic attacks to get your cooldowns ready.
    2. Kill enemy healers first. Even if their heal is not a deciding factor, it will give their characters more time to damage you. Your goal is to get into every fight as healthy as possible. That is why phoenix is so good for GW, their damage is not that great but their survivability is unquestionable. GW, just like this game, is a marathon, not a sprint.
    3. When I started doing off I always went with Consular and Talia. YOu have Luminara Unduli which is a lot better than Talis so have her, consular, and 3 other toons for your main team.
Old ben, Rey, Princess Leia, JC and Luminara will get you 100% GW cleared if you pay atention.
    4. This is not a bug, but it will help you a lot to finish GW. I noticed at one point that when you retreat from a GW battle, the next time you start it the actions will turn out EXACTLY THE SAME, as long as you follow the script. If you dont understand what I am about to write, watch "edge of tomorow" movie, this is 99% the same thing.
This means that if your Rey crit her first attack on chewie, it will ALWAYS crit for the same dmg as long as you atk chewie with it. And so the 4th move, your princess Leia also crit boba, as long as you retreat, and do the first 3 moves exactly the same, she will always crit boba on the 4th move. You can use this to fine-tune every battle for the best possible outcome. FOllow the script for as long as it suits you, and if on your 9th attack your old ben misses his auto on someone, retreat, do the 8 steps and atk somebody else with old Ben, or use an ability. Keep in mind that as soon as you break the script, everything changes. Even if your 10th attack was a crit, it is not guaranteed to be so again if you did not do the 9th step.

Good luck. I expect you to let us know about your GW triumph tomorow.
  • Heal, heal, heal. Basically draw out each fight til your luminaras heal is off cool down and ready to go for the next battle. May require leaving only 1 enemy alive and do basics til her cooldowns reset.
