Cantina Sector 9 Drop Rates and Preliminary Results

I don't normally post here, but I know that this is a hot button topic of "i feel" statements, so I very much would like to put some information on the forums that I haven't already made available either through Youtube or Reddit.

If you have read Reddit, you've already read the majority of this post

If you need somebody to talk you through it, you can find the video version here

A couple of notes:

  • We do not yet have enough information to definitively talk about exact drop rates, and I will keep taking data, but we do have plenty of data to be close enough to know optimal farming paths.
  • One thing that is rarely talked about with drop rates is that what we call drop rates is actually the occurrence rate. . .The drop rate is actually different. It's not something I'll get into via text as I feel like it'll get lost in translation, but I did demonstrate the difference in the video.
    • Fundamentally the difference isn't that important to 99.99% of players.
  • Data wise we are currently running off of 1590/3300/5600 datapoints [by node], again, reliable enough to help us understand the relationship between drops, but not enough to pinpoint exact timetables.
    • Note: My current sheets have the data at 2200/4200/11000 and the data has not shifted from the infographics in any significant way.
  • At the moment we still have roughly 100 people submitting data to this experiment, and I am currently working on a more private experiment to find the frequency [drop rate] of drops, this will take much longer to work out, but we are on the right track.
Using Planet Coruscant data for legacy Sector 8 drop rates

Things to note:

  • If you recall our previous post [From Reddit], it appears 9F was brought up in crystal value to more closely resemble the values of 9B and 9D.
    • Green Signal Data: 66% -> 85% [clear indication of increase]
    • Blue Signal Data: 48% - > 49.9% [very likely remained the same]

But this isn't enough for me and I wanted to actually determine the best ways to farm things. . .All below rates are per 100 energy spent. . .

Things to note. . .

  • If you're looking for Corrupted Signal Data [cSD] the new Cantina Sector 9 Nodes are clear winners, with 9B being the best conversion rate.
    • Although Blue Signal Data has the highest value for cSD the drop rate is significantly higher on White Signal Data
  • Cantina Sector 8 remains the clear winner for farming a specific Signal Data, although you are trading omicrons for zetas, which may make general farming on Sector 9 far more beneficial

Just want the raw data?

Note that the below is a screenshot from my Private Google Sheet. It is updated as of today, whereas the infographics [again, no significant changes] are about 7 days old. This means that there are going to be some slight discrepancies between the two.

TL;DR Egnards Guidance

  • Short Term Projects: If you're measuring meeting a deadline in days/weeks and your limiting factor is a single type of signal data? You should probably be farming it on Cantina 8.
  • Relic 10 Conversion: 9B is the clear winner for speed of acquisition, but I'd argue that it makes more sense to farm 9D, as you get the best of both worlds. A slightly better rate of conversion, and more access to blue signal data for use [the most limiting of the signal data].
  • General Farming: If your goal is just to bolster your hoards of Signal Data then 9F is probably the best node for you. It has both of the rare signal datas and White Signal Data is easy enough to acquire more passively, as well as acquiring quickly if it becomes a limiting factor**.**
