Echo's "By the Book" has taken a serious hit by the change to the ability with which he was originally tuned. How about making it, "Clone allies recover 7% of their Max Health whenever they use a Basic ability. This effect is doubled once per turn, if they use the ability out of turn, and is disabled if Echo is defeated."
That would pair well with a Fives passive taunt, but not affect too much the "Fives v.s. the world" event that sometimes occurs at the end of a match.
Yeah man I don't know what the fix is for Echo to be honest. A couple thoughts...
1. AI must be fixed somehow, if possible that is. QGJ and Ventress deal with the same issue, so it might be some programming logic that can't be "fixed" per say. If it can be fixed that would be ideal, plus a cooldown reduction would help with his debuff.
2. I like his assist attack, overall it's a nice addition to the Clone squad to have that extra damage. He does take a damage reduction penalty; I would like to see something along the lines of, "if attacking ally is a Clone, that ally also gains 20% TM with a critical hit" or something like that. Often is assist doesn't even top 3k. The Clones are about TM gain and being up-tempo, so I think it's reasonable since most of them don't do much damage.
3. By The Book: I think it would be more fun to grant the primary ally something like Protection-up or +10% protection if the ally is a Clone. Something cool that has good synergy with the Clones but is restricted to the Clones so it doesn't become broken.
Echo is a tough one because he fills a niche but provides good support overall. I really don't know what the answer is for him. To me the issues with Cody and Rex are very obvious, but Echo... ugh. lol
