"$82M" is not table scraps. You have to be flat out ignorant to believe that. Even for a company that is worth billions. They wouldn't be worth billions today if that couldn't make "$82M" in a consistent matter where small minded people think that is table scraps. That's not table scraps that good consistent growth for a company. Especially when they're making "$82M" from one of their mobile games not even one of their major hits like Madden, FIFA or etc. You have to understand the finance world to understand that even $1 is enough to put a make a company worth a B. If They were selling crystals for $1 with their 20M+ players and even if half of them bought the crystals that's already $10M right their in their bank account. McDonalds sells $1 burgers yet they are also a $B dollar company, yet they are a real estate company as well it wouldn't have happened if people didn't like their $1 burgers because without the customers they're wouldn't be no profit? Shocking.
Warren Buffet barley spends $3 a day for his own breakfast https://www.cnbc.com/2017/01/30/warren-buffetts-breakfast-never-costs-more-than-317.html Let alone only keeping $100K in his "bank account" to spend.
That "$82M" is great profit to spend on company expansion, improving the company internally, paying off liabilities, help fix bugs or add updates to their games because they need to expand just like every other company. It's not free to higher developers who help fix bugs, code, and update their games. Even though it's technically free to make a crystal it's not free for the developers to do it. They need to get paid. https://www.glassdoor.com/Salary/Electronic-Arts-Salaries-E1628.htm
When a company goes into an IPO and 10 years down their road they improved their revenue from $8M to "$82M" that is going to attract long term investors which shockingly, helps put value to their Market Cap. Even though EA is worth $34B "$82M" is fantastic and Star Wars happens to be their top mobile game https://seekingalpha.com/article/4077140-electronic-arts-gets-galaxy-money-star-wars-mobile-game
Additionally according to their May 27, 2017 10-K (annual report) http://investor.ea.com/sec.cfm?DocType=Annual&Year=&FormatFilter= their top games that produce the most revenue for them Star Wars happens to be mentioned every single time. Every increase in revenue Star Wars happens to be they're and every increase in cost as well Star Wars happens to be their because it's not cheap to maintain high valued games like such. You can even see their historical chart on finance Yahoo. They've been doing fantastic ever since they've bought Star Wars. "Product net revenue was $2,640 million , primarily driven by FIFA 17, Battlefield 1, and Star Wars Battlefront " "Service and other net revenue was $2,205 million , primarily driven by FIFA Ultimate Team , Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes, and Need for Speed 2015" Even as a new game for EA, Star Wars is already doing fantastic for them in such a short period of time.
Then there's players that want more stuff to be added in the game and complain about stuff that's wrong or content that's missing. There's so much $82M can do for EA, and it's not like EA (the company) is making SWGOH, No they have specific teams and out side companies (Capital Games for instance) that help them with their games like Battlefield, FIFA, and Madden. So it's not like that "$82M" is going straight to EA. Plus since their company is public, their value is from which the investors sees it as.Public companies don't necessarily have a say on how much their company is worth, only their annual and quarterly reports give true value. Besides that it's just a guessing game on what the market sees it as. Just like the over valued tech companies. What happen in the 90s and in 08-09. If you want to know what their real value is go look in their books and not what the market sees it as. Even though they may be worth $34B in the stock market doesn't mean their balance sheet says so.
Lol it's ridiculous what some people see is "table scraps" and other people who can see the hidden opportunities it really posses. Just as Ray Kroc saw what the Mcdonald brothers couldn't.
Wow, just wow. This is a ton of words without realizing that money, like most things in life is relative. Phrases like "a lot of money" and "table scraps" are relative to the individual/company we're talking about. $200 to someone living paycheck to paycheck is valued far more then $20k is to a trust-fund kid.
I have no idea why you think Warren Buffet eating $1 McDonalds burgers for breakfast has anything to do with it...
EA has a team of accountants and meta-data crunchers much smarter then either you or me, working around the clock coming up with their price points on maximizing profits through in-app purchases. If they thought they'd make more selling $1 packs, they'd do that. They obviously disagree.
You think me describing 82m as "table scraps" when talking about EA's profits is "ignorant." I find the entire concept of this thread, that since they make so much money they owe us free stuff, far more ignorant.
Ok, I lied. Not the whole concept of this thread, since the early thread was about you being a new player and not understanding how the game actually works, more like the last page and a half.
