I recently made the switch from a JKR team for squad arena to Darth Revan/Malak. I've improved a bit purely because of how savage the team is, but I'm kinda lost as to what to do with Sith Trooper.My initial thought was to mod him for lots of extra protection and very little speed, so that he wouldn't get his defense shredded by Ferocity right away and could absorb some punishment while the rest of the team got rolling. In practice though, this doesn't seem to work very well: enemy JKRs will always direct focus someone else, and even when he does manage to grab the enemy squad's attention he seems to get pulverized in one or two hits. I mostly pick on JKR squads - the other DR teams in my shard are universally way faster than mine, which makes them brutally difficult to beat.So what's the best way to use the Trooper? Or is he just doomed to get wrecked for the sake of accelerating HK's Assassination cooldown? Sith Trooper is mostly there to help with the Darth Revan mirror matches. The pre-taunt means that a faster enemy Revan will only fear your Trooper and Revan, and not the entire team. Trooper is mostly worthless in a match vs JKR, but you shouldn't have much trouble beating them if you have most of the zetas and all g11-12 characters. Once you start the Revan fear train, they should spend most of the match just sitting around with a little purple cloud floating around their heads.

If you're fighting jkr just toss nihilus in there instead. I have yet to see a jkr direct focus anyone but my nih when i run drevan. so nih basically turns into a tank and should be able to absorb the entire opening barage.

Yeah, I can beat JKR teams pretty easily unless they have truly ridiculous speeds. Yeah, I can beat JKR teams pretty easily unless they have truly ridiculous speeds. Once Revan gets deathmark-killed it's pretty much over even if I lose two of my guys.

Yeah? I figured with JKR's lead giving 40% crit and DR teams getting 50-100% crit from Ferocity, it probably wouldn't make any difference.

I dont run the team so can't help from personal experience, but my top 25 is 1 CLS, 2 Revans (one with JKA) and the rest are DR.

On the DR teams - they run Sith Troooer + Malak together. If they dont have Malak, they don't run Sith Trooper at all and run Thrawn or, strangely, one guy running GM Yoda instead.

Just theorycrafting silliness - but Id be curious how a non-Sith Empire tank would do since they won't get Feroicity rebuff. L3 has a pre-taunt and since she is the only scoundrel will self cleanse every time she is hit and has a heal and gains insane turn meter. With a zeta she would also rez HK...

Accusing DRevan players of not having a strategy beyond paying money to win is just as lazy as you accuse those players of being. DRevan players have to come up with strategies to fight the other DRevan squads - it is really tough on defense too.

All of these options are ways of dealing with faster DR teams. Thrawn can outspeed the opposing DBas and fracture her or swap to your DBas to get CBM up first. GMY can outspeed the opposing DBas and put tenacity up so you avoid CBM. Against JKR none of that is necessary and neither is a pretaunt. Prior to Malak I was running Sion and Nihilus against JKR.

I haven’t gotten around to gearing Sith Trooper so I’ve been using other pretaunt options and they are fine. It’s really the pretaunt that’s important more than anything else. Haven’t tried L3 specifically because she’s g8.

If your DRevan isn't the fastest, a pre-taunter is pretty much required to ensure the enemy DRevan doesn't Fear your whole team at the start. Sith Trooper is the best, because he gains all the benefits of the DRevan leadershp - can't be stunned or ability blocked, clears foresight, and the whole team gains 50% Crit Damage if the whole squad is Sith Empire.

Pretty much all the DRevan/Malak squads on my shard run Revan, Bastila, HK-47, Trooper, Malak.

Yep, same. There are one or two guys running a Sion or Nihilus in that last spot but it's overwhelmingly that comp.

I just struggle against enemy DRevan teams because of my low speeds; Revan is +111 while HK and Bast are around +85-90. So most of the time I lose guys before I even get a chance to move, even with Trooper pretaunting.
