GAS Arena Useless?

What gives me pause is that the Padme team can take #1 everyday against every team including GAS with little trouble. The Padme team also feeds Negotiator arena. In addition, the 501st already has a solid lead with Shaaq.
Given the 7* cost, heavy kyro and zeta for GAS, I won't be able to 7* the next meta character quickly. So should I horde for the next meta or go all in on GAS even though I already have a meta dominant Padme arena team and a complete 501st team? I question GAS's value in the current arena meta and he doesn't bring as much to TW, GAC, etc since I already have a functional 501st team.
I guess I will sit on the GET until I start seeing more GAS in my arena.
