GMY ignores the status effects rules

1st things first, gmy DID have fear. This has happened more times than I can count so I'm certain of what I'm talking about. @chionophile
Now, regarding the whole tm gains and bonus turns, what I see in the game is the following:
GMY has stagger and full tm, so he attacks with his aoe.
GMY lands back to his place, has stagger and his tm is full.
Thrawn counters the aoe while gmy has full tm
Stagger gets activated (and thus expires) but gmy still has 100% tm.
The turn meter is not being reduced by the counter and then refilled for the bonus turn. Gmy will just ignore the whole stagger effect and continue normally with his next attack. Nowhere in his ability states that he is immune to tm reduction as far as that turn is concerned.
Also, can anyone explain why light side bastilla dispels fear? In some matches where kenobi goes before bastilla (both 100% tm so rng) and uses his own dispel, the fear stays. However if bastilla uses hers, it gets dispelled normally.
P.S. I know it's not easy to gets a developer's reply for such stuff, but if anyone could help clarify what's going on and why, I would highly appreciate it. Please tag someone if you know ?
