This isn’t a question of whether or not you like the characters from the movies more or less than TOR characters. The issue is one of the player base (and potential player base) recognizing characters. You can’t make an argument that MORE people know who Revan is than Luke Skywalker. Therefore from a developer standpoint, it doesn’t make sense to release lesser known characters over main characters.
I understand the thought process behind saving big characters and releasing them when you need more sales. Which is why I can accept the fact that Jedi Luke is still not here. But we are missing a lot of characters that are central to the main Star Wars movies, and I think that’s dumb. If you need more sales, come up with new, better content or release less relevant characters for the hardcores. But don’t hold our favorite characters hostage for your bottom line.
I have trouble taking a claim that characters who are already in the game two or three times are really "missing." We have three Chewies and two Lukes, so there really shouldn't be a huge rush for more.
The roster is reasonably extensive. Discounting versions of characters, I count four plot important characters who aren't in the game yet and could reasonably be made into units. Padme, Snoke, DJ, and Dryden Vos. And you could maybe argue Hux and whoever the enemy commander was in The Clone Wars.
Because Dengar was so pivotal to Empire. Thank God Lobot and Ugnaught are here, their dialogue in the movies is palpable. Plo Kloon was a big talker to. And some guy with horns but not Maul Jedi was amazing in the Battle of Geonosis. SF Tie Pilots are pivotal plot movers to TLJ and we have Executioners, but no FO SnowTrooper, AT-M6 driver, or any other variant of the FO.
I fully agree Hux should be in game. So should Maz with her go pro droid. DJ not so much. Snoke, maybe once we know more of his back story. But fix what’s already in game first. There are so many characters with zero worth in Game already."YaeVizsla;c-1590861" wrote:

I’d add to that list: Jabba the Hutt, C3PO, Jango Fett, Admiral Piett, Mon Mothma (and I could go on for a while here) who are all more recognizable than Darth Revan.
I’m not discounting the TOR characters by any means. Add them to this game. But understand from a marketing standpoint that when you announce Jolee Bindo is coming to the game, and nobody knows who that is, then it doesn’t help your game. Aside from that one cheer in the audience, most people will be left scratching their heads (especially the younger crowd). Then the only way to get the rest of us excited for such an irrelevant character is to make their kit OP, and that’s something I disdain."Funderbolts;c-1590870" wrote:

I said plot relevant characters who could reasonably be turned into characters.
Jabba isn't really practical to turn into a unit for physical reasons, which is the same reason I didn't add Ziro. C-3PO and Mon Mothma are firmly noncombatants, so it's reasonable to say they aren't appropriate as units in the game. Mon Mothma and Admiral Piett are not plot relevant.
Jango, I'll give you. He is plot relevant and a reasonable unit to add to the game.
Mon Mothma's only job is to give a mission briefing. Remove her and there is no impact on the plot. The following scenes just become more confusing.
Admiral Piett is little more than an extra. His sole job is to sweat while Vader is being a horrible boss. He has no impact on the plot. Even those who've seen the movie multiple times probably won't know his name, or realize it's the same character between scenes."YaeVizsla;c-1590875" wrote:

Ok. Assuming that’s a fair assertion, then why do we have Holdo, Hermit Yoda, BB8, Nute Gunray, Admiral Ackbar, and Grand Moff Tarkin? If characters need to abide by the standards you’ve laid out (plot relevance and combat ability), then every one of these characters can be eliminated for violating one or both of those premises. I mean is C3PO really less relevant to the plot than Datcha? And is the non-combatant role not solved through Hermit Yoda’s inclusion in this game?"Funderbolts;c-1590870" wrote:

I think that Revan would be a perfect opportunity to introduce TOR to this game. Revan is definitely most popular of TOR characters. Where they went wrong: They added Nihilus first. I love Nihilus, he’s a wonderful character, but he’s not well known, or a good introduction to TOR. He forced them to add Sion and Traya. Great. Where they screwed themselves over: They also added Visas Marr. As a weirdly standalone light Side character. Just like HK on dark Side. This is obviously all leading up to Revan, which I think is a terrible idea.
Nevertheless, there are many characters they are missing that should be there. I like having TOR characters, but plot moving characters are more important. To add to your list:
Tobias Beckett
Aurra Sing (Questionable)
Hondo Ohnaka
Maybe Bail Organa?
Battle Droid
Greedo (Shot First Special Edition)
Darth Jar Jar"Nihion;c-1590888" wrote:

In my order of precedence, I put Scout Trooper and B1 Battle Droid higher than Revan. It’s not a knock on Revan — it’s a general statement that the well-known and popular ought to be explored more and released sooner than the lesser known characters that didn’t appear in the movies.- NotRealUltra8 years agoLegend

For the record, I think Revan is dumb and irrelevant. Until we have the main course that is actual canon characters that all Star Wars fans know and care about, e.g. Jedi Luke, Rebel Chewbacca, etc., then we shouldn’t be focusing on the trivial side dishes.

Well yeah, I would. Admiral Piett commanded the Imperial Fleet during the Battle of Endor aboard the super star destroyer. I mean, he’s literally the imperial counterpart to Admiral Ackbar with even more screen time than our fishy friend, so yeah, I’d say that he’s equally if not more significant.- Ah, completely forgot about Beckett. That makes five. Though I don't think they're done with Solo releases yet?

I didn't say every character added to the game must fit those criteria. There are a bunch of weird one-off characters in the game.
The criteria I listed are more for expecting a character to come to the game, or claiming they're missing."Funderbolts;c-1590891" wrote:

You're talking out of both sides of your mouth right now. On the one hand, you're acknowledging it's just your list, and on the other, you're asserting your list holds some sort of inherent superiority to anyone else's. On really dubious grounds, no less, as even if they're not important to you, Revan is a well-known, popular, and even iconic character within Star Wars.
